First time at Forge and Thistle and was lucky enough to enjoy the best Prime Rib in all of saugeen shores. The quality and quantity was worth every cent.
The appetizer for chicken pate was not only generous, but also delictable! So far 2 out of 2, easily 5 stars for the food and decided to go for the dessert. The toffee bread pudding didn't disappoint.
Great service and great food, booked here for next week for their special raspberry upside down pie!
This place can fit a most 20 people max for dining and has another small area for the bar. -

Driving through Southampton by myself on a Saturday night at dinner time and found this little gem!
Very limited seating so felt lucky to get a table at 6pm. Fantastic meal!
Had a caesar salad to start and the prime rib for dinner.
The salad dressing was homemade and nice and garlicky. Prime rib already at medium by 6pm.
Gonna be back here for sure! -

SOUTH HAMPTON REVIEW CREW
Cozy little restaurant in the middle of South Hampton, reservations are recommended as there is limited seating. Overall a very friendly and warm atmosphere.
The food was excellent, we ordered the Chicken Pot Pie and the Veggie Hot Pot. The crust on both of the dishes was a delicious golden brown and was both flaky and fluffy. The chicken pot pie was filled with lots of chicken pieces and the sauce used was excellent. However, some peas in the pie would have been appreciated. The vegetables that were given on the side as well in the Veggie Hot Pot were cooked perfectly and were VERY fresh. The Brussels sprouts were good enough to convert any hater of the small green vegetable.
A friend of ours had ordered the Bangers and Mash and would like it to be known that it was the best he had ever had.
On a side note, the attention to detail by the cooking staff was outstanding. One display of this was that the side salad was placed in a bowl that fit perfectly on the same plate as the main dish which we quite liked.
The only thing is that the service could be a little slow. Although, that is sometimes the price a customer might have to pay if they want fresh cooking.

One of the best little restaurants in the area so make sure you have a reservation unless you are just stopping in for a wee pint. The prime rib and curry are two of my favorites unless they have lamb on the menu.
